CP1, 67 Miles Grande Tours | 3/6/2005 1:54:00 AM | Awsome morning on the outside and I even out paced the sail boats but when teh wind picked up they smoked me.Should have been inside for current. Still an awesome day and I'm not far off my desired pace. Oh and no Butt sores this year. Horay!!! |
CP2, 174 Miles Chokoloskee | 3/8/2005 7:43:00 PM | 8:00 this morning brought 2-3 foot beam seas washing over me with 25 knot wind. Gave adventure to adventure racing. Came in against tide. Will prepare better next year. Will head to ranger station in a.m. I haven't seen a WaterTriber since Sunday morning. |
CP3, 273 Miles Flamingo | 3/10/2005 10:33:00 PM | Wilderness waterway was brutal in the long east/west canals that went forever with no southward progress. I though I must be the only person left out here. But then in Whitewater Bay I caught up with five others. Hurray, my first day paddling with others. I can't wait for the breakfast bar. |
Finish, 303 Miles Key Largo | 3/11/2005 8:34:00 PM | Great paddle acroos Florida Bay. 180 degrees different than last year. Good folks, wind at my back & not in my face, no sores on my butt & didn't have to spend th enight in my boat again. I played and surfed the whole way across. Thanks for the company SandyBottom, BilgePump, ArcticDoc, and RescueRandy (aka DMToppi). |
