3/10/2004 3:03:00 PMFun is probably not the right word but I am having it anyway. What a great adventure. I could have done without the surf practice when we hit the six foot waves on shoals off Matanzas Pass but everything OK. I am feeling really good.

Flamingo
3/12/2004 9:45:00 AMUp close and personal with the mangroves. Held onto a mangrove root for two hours (10 PM to midnight) to avoid getting sucked out of Little Shark River. Paddled 22 hours straight then crashed on a mangrove island for 1-1/2 hours waitinf for day time. I'm still loving it.

3/14/2004 8:33:00 AM35 miles in 20-23 knot head winds the whole time. Big seas harrowing. Pulled off at dark in a mangrove. No solid bottom had to sleep in the boat. 14 hours without ever getting out of the boat. But we made it. I loved the highs and the lows. Can't wait till next year.
