Details Flotation
Flotation must be sufficient to keep the boat afloat even if swamped. It
is strongly suggested that equipment stored inside waterproof compartments be
inside waterproof bags so that they can provide flotation if the compartment
becomes flooded.
-
Hatches for compartments seperated by bulkheads must be waterproof.
-
In addition, hatch covers must be rigid or strong enough to prevent implosion
from dumping waves or surf.
-
Many boats use a combination of covers. One makes the hatch waterproof
and one provides protection from dumping waves and surf.
-
Any questionable
systems will be "brutally" tested and my result in damage to your boat.
If such damage occurs, you will be disqualified.
-
Tyvek is not suitable for any part of the system.
